Duffing your chips from the simplest of lies is one of the most frustrating shots in the game. You’ve done such of the hard work and a straightforward chip should result in you making a par but we then leave the next shot a few feet in front of us.

Here Chris Ryan explains how to get the best set-up and a method to give yourself the best chance to get up and down, just like Maja Stark (pictured).

  1. Have minimal shaft lean
  2. Your sternum should be in line with the ball
  3. Your weight should be on your lead leg
  4. Concentrate on the butt/handle to keep moving on a wide arc
  5. Use your torso/chest to increase your margin for error
