We all want a consistent golf swing; one that produces positive results not prolonged futility. In this golf lesson, PGA Advanced Professional Steve Johnston homes in on post-impact and underlines the importance of a good release and swivel action through the shot.
In a nutshell, the left wrist needs to swivel through impact, not cup. That ensures the club face rotates at the correct speed and leads to more control.
So, to test that this theory holds water, Steve suggests using an opened bottle of the wet stuff.
Instead of a club, hold the bottle in your left hand and go through your swing motion. If your wrist bends too dramatically, the water will spill. If you roll your wrist correctly and its flat, the water should stay in the bottle.
Replace the bottle with the club, replicate the swivel action and you should strike it much better.
