I was trained and worked with my brother Brian Sparks for almost all my career. Together we researched new ideas and developed a coaching program called Positive Impact Golf. Brian wrote a book by the same name and also trained several other coaches in his concepts. In 2011 he filmed a short video and put it on YouTube called 'The Easiest Swing in Golf'. In the video he made no commentary but merely asks the viewer to watch what he is doing and to ask themselves whether he is following their own 'rules' of the game? He deliberately does three things 'wrong', he lifts his left heel in the backswing, he lifts his head before impact and he allows his left arm to bend in the backswing. He felt most golfers would look at this and expect him to only hit bad shots, however, the reverse actually happens, he not only hits lovely shots but he also makes the whole thing look incredibly easy. Off the back of this video he started getting calls from more and more coaches wanting to know more and in due course he revised the brand name and the coaching program with 10 modules under the brand name 'Easiest Swing.' This was a key moment and the whole thing took off with great gusto. Before long he had sold tens of thousands of copies of the original book and had over a dozen trained coaches dotted around the world. Sadly, the one thing that interrupted this progress was his health and in 2022 a lifelong battle with cancer ended. Brian had asked me to complete the work on a second book, aptly named 'The Easiest Swing in Golf' and this was published in 2024. It regularly hits the top ten selling golf books on Kindle and has also sold in similar numbers to the original book. Our Youtube channel is growing incredibly fast and at time of writing has over 50,000 subscribers and a monthly viewership of a third of a million views.
